OSF HealthCare Saint Elizabeth Medical Center is proud to recognize Leslee Marincic, RN, as a DAISY Award recipient. A valued member of the emergency department in Ottawa, Leslee, has been a Mission Partner for more than 9 years. She is known for her compassionate presence, positive spirit and unwavering commitment to patients and families.

Leslee was nominated by a fellow nurse who experienced her support during one of life's most difficult moments.

"When my brother arrived in the Emergency Department unresponsive, I was overwhelmed not only as a nurse, but as a sister. Leslee met me with kindness, compassion and reassurance when I needed it most. She helped me understand what was happening, stayed by my side throughout the experience and offered comfort during the most traumatic day of my life.

"Even while caring for my critically ill brother, she never stopped caring for me. Leslee didn't just care for a patient. She cared for an entire family. Her empathy, professionalism and genuine kindness made an unbearable moment more manageable. For that, she deserves this DAISY Award more than words can express."
