The OSF HealthCare Foundation was awarded the Angel Award by Carpenter’s Place during the organization’s 25th annual fundraising event.

Established in 2002, Carpenter's Place is a nonprofit homeless day center designed to help people experiencing homelessness rebuild their lives. Carpenter's Place provides education, job training and health care programs as well as referral and advocacy services.

For many years, the OSF HealthCare Foundation has served as a generous supporter of Carpenter’s Place, including participating in the annual Maundy Thursday foot washing event. OSF podiatry residency physicians and medical students, in partnership with OrthoIllinois, wash guests’ feet, trim nails and provide any necessary referrals for follow-up foot care needs. The OSF HealthCare Foundation also donates shoes, socks, nail clippers and other accessories.

Ryan Duvall, director of development for Ministry giving, OSF HealthCare Foundation, accepted the award from Aaron Vaiden, president of the Carpenter’s Place board of directors.

“We are pleased to partner with Carpenter’s Place in the tremendous work they do to help get our homeless population back on their feet,” says Duvall. “We support Carpenter’s Place through our community outreach fund, which is comprised of donor dollars given by our generous donors. This award is shared by so many who support our work in the community.”
