OSF HealthCare Saint Elizabeth Medical Center is proud to recognize Alexandrea (Alley) Beyer, an Emergency Department technician, as a recipient of the Sunflower Award.
Alley has been a Mission Partner for five years and is known for providing compassionate, respectful care to patients and families during some of their most challenging moments. At the time of the nomination, she was serving as a technician in the Emergency Department. Since then, she has advanced her career and now serves as a registered nurse caring for patients in the emergency department at OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.
Alley was nominated by a grateful mother who shared how her kindness and support made a meaningful difference during a difficult emergency department visit.
"When my son came to the emergency department in crisis, our family faced one of the most heartbreaking experiences imaginable. While every caregiver provided excellent care, Alley stood out because of the compassion she showed me as a mother. After my son was transported for further care, she took time to comfort me, offering a hug, reassurance and genuine concern for my well-being. Her calming presence helped me through an incredibly difficult moment, and her kindness is something I will never forget. Alley is a shining star and an incredible asset to OSF HealthCare."
