OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center has earned cardiac electrophysiology accreditation from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, a recognition that highlights the medical center’s commitment to providing high-quality care for patients with heart rhythm disorders.
Cardiac electrophysiology focuses on diagnosing and treating irregular heart rhythms. These procedures often require specialized physicians, advanced technology and a highly trained care team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
The accreditation covers several key areas of cardiac electrophysiology, including device implantation, chronic lead extraction, left atrial appendage occlusion and testing and ablation procedures.
To earn accreditation, the medical center completed a detailed review process that included a comprehensive self-assessment and evaluation by a panel of medical experts. The review examined both operational and clinical components of the program, including patient outcomes and representative case studies, to ensure compliance with nationally recognized standards.
The IAC is a nonprofit organization that accredits facilities providing diagnostic imaging, therapeutic and interventional procedures. Through its peer-review process, the organization works to improve health care quality and patient outcomes nationwide.
