OSF HealthCare Saint Elizabeth Medical Center is proud to recognize Christie Jones, RN, as a recipient of the DAISY Award, an international honor celebrating nurses who provide extraordinary, compassionate care.
Christie is a valued member of the radiation oncology team in Ottawa, serving patients as an oncology nurse navigator. She has been a Mission Partner for more than seven years and is known by patients and colleagues alike for her uplifting spirit, steady presence and wholehearted dedication to those she serves.
Christie was nominated by a grateful patient who credits her with being a guiding light during a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment journey.
“From the very first phone call, Christie brought comfort during one of the most overwhelming times of my life,” the patient shared. “She explained what was going to happen, arranged my appointments, followed up after every visit and always knew the right thing to say when I was having a rough day. Her knowledge, compassion and encouragement made all the difference. I truly could not have gone through this without her.”
The patient went on to share that even after treatment ended, Christie continued to celebrate milestones and offer support, describing her as not just a nurse but a trusted friend.
