OSF HealthCare Saint Paul Medical Center is proud to recognize Georgia Wick, RN, as a DAISY Award recipient for the extraordinary compassion and dignity she brings to patient care.
Georgia is a valued member of the inpatient unit at OSF HealthCare Saint Paul Medical Center and has served as a Mission Partner for more than 12 years.
Georgia was nominated by a grateful patient’s family member who shared how her care made a lasting difference during the final moments of their loved one’s life:
“On the day my brother-in-law passed, Georgia gave him and our family a gift we will carry with us forever: peace. From the moment she began caring for him, her presence brought calm and comfort when we needed it most. She cared for him with tenderness, dignity and compassion, never leaving his side and ensuring he was not alone. She also supported our family through our grief with kindness and understanding. Because of Georgia, his final moments were filled with peace, love and dignity. I will forever be grateful for the beautiful care she provided.”
Maria Chicchelly, vice president and chief nursing officer of OSF HealthCare Saint Paul Medical Center, said Georgia reflects the very heart of nursing.
“Georgia exemplifies what it means to care with skill, compassion and heart,” Chicchelly said. “Her ability to educate, advocate for and comfort patients while ensuring their safety reflects the true spirit of the DAISY Award.”
The DAISY Award honors nurses who provide exceptional, compassionate care, and Georgia’s dedication and presence reflect the OSF HealthCare Mission.
