OSF HealthCare Saint Luke Medical Center is thrilled to recognize the 2026 Sunflower Award winner, Mallory Reiber, physical therapy assistant. Mallory was nominated for the Sunflower Award for her attentive and empowering approach, helping a patient recover from a hip fracture and return home strong.
Mallory provided encouraging, compassionate support throughout the patient’s rehabilitation journey. With a balance of kindness and motivation, she helped the patient regain strength and mobility. Through her support, the patient achieved a deeply personal milestone, highlighting the lasting impact of Mallory’s dedication and expertise.
“Mallory was so kind, thoughtful, and encouraging throughout my recovery,” the patient shared. “She pushed me in the best way and helped me reach my goal of walking at my grandson’s wedding. I feel so blessed to have had her as a caregiver.”
“Outstanding nursing care is recognized through the DAISY Award, but there are Mission Partners, like Jill, who are not nurses and are providing extraordinary care. It’s awesome to be able to recognize them with the Sunflower Award, as they are all truly deserving of the honor,” said Kory Tinkham, vice president of Operations and Special Projects at OSF Saint Luke.
Recipients for the Sunflower Award are nominated by patients, the families of patients or employees throughout the past year. The Sunflower Award winners receive an award pin, certificate, sculpture, embroidered tote bag, bouquet of sunflowers and a banner displayed in their department for the year.
To recognize a non-nursing employee who has provided exceptional service, submit a nomination to honor their dedication at osfhealthcarefoundation.org/sunflower-award.
