OSF HealthCare, in partnership with the Warren County Health Department and Monmouth Police Department, invites community members to participate in a free Drug Take Back Pop-Up Event on Thursday, October 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Warren County Health Department, located at 240 S. Main St. in Monmouth.
The event provides a safe, secure and anonymous opportunity for individuals to dispose of unused prescription medications and sharps. Sharps disposal will be available to Warren County residents only.
Improper disposal of medications can pose risks to families, communities and the environment. Drug Take Back initiatives help prevent prescription drug misuse and reduce the potential for accidental exposure by encouraging residents to safely remove unwanted medications from their homes.
In addition to accepting medications and sharps, representatives will be available outside the Warren County Health Department to provide information about local disposal locations, educational resources and prizes.
