DANVILLE, Ill. | October 10, 2026 – OSF HealthCare is pleased to add an experienced general and breast surgeon to its staff to better serve Danville and the surrounding areas.
The addition of Dawn Holman, MD, in September 2026 will ensure increased access for patients in need of general surgery at OSF Medical Group – Surgery in Danville, located at 707 N. Logan Ave., Suite 304, Danville, IL.
Dr. Holman completed her general surgery residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2001 and earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1995. She brings more than two decades of surgical experience to the Danville community.
She cares for adults who need general surgery, as well as patients with breast cancer and other breast conditions.
As a breast surgeon, Dr. Holman evaluates and treats a wide range of breast concerns, including breast cancer, abnormal mammograms, breast lumps and other benign breast conditions. Her services include breast biopsies, lumpectomy, mastectomy and lymph node procedures, and she works closely with each patient to explain their options and build a personalized treatment plan.
As a general surgeon, Dr. Holman performs a variety of common procedures, including gallbladder removal, hernia repair, appendectomy and the removal of skin and soft tissue lumps. Whenever possible, she uses minimally invasive techniques that can mean smaller incisions, less pain and a faster return to everyday life.
Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women in the United States, and early diagnosis and treatment make a real difference in outcomes. A breast cancer diagnosis or an abnormal mammogram can be overwhelming, and traveling long distances for surgery adds stress for patients and their families. With Dr. Holman in Danville, patients across Vermilion County and the surrounding area can receive expert surgical care close to home, with coordinated support from the OSF cancer care team at the Bobette Steely Hegeler Cancer Center.
Dr. Holman is now accepting new patients. New or existing patients can make appointments with Dr. Holman by calling 217-477-4734.
