Powerful Tools for Caregivers virtual class series offers support, confidence and practical skills

4/10/2026 - Peru, Illinois

Family caregivers give so much of themselves while caring for loved ones. A new Virtual Powerful Tools for Caregivers class series is designed to support caregivers by offering practical tools, encouragement and connection.

This six‑week, evidence‑based program helps caregivers care for themselves while caring for a spouse, partner, parent, friend or a child with special needs. Care may take place at home or in a care facility, nearby or from miles away and every caregiver’s role matters.

Participants will gain tools to:

  • Reduce stress
  • Build self‑confidence
  • Manage time, set goals and solve problems
  • Communicate feelings more effectively
  • Make tough decisions
  • Find helpful caregiving resources

Each caregiver will receive The Caregiver Helpbook, which aligns with the class curriculum and provides additional guidance on common caregiving challenges.

Class details:
Tuesdays, May 12 to June 16, 2026
5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
